After you qualify...
What happens when you have finished the Open water tests? Well, you can either dive at the grade for which you have qualified or go on to further training with the club.

If you decide that diving is for you then you can pay a further £55 to hire the club kit for your Sports Diver training. But you will probably want to start purchasing your own kit by this time or soon after so we have compiled a rough breakdown of what you can expect to pay for the equipment you will be buying.

Diving isn't a cheap sport – but don't panic!
Very few novice divers rush out and buy everything brand new! One of the great advantages in joining a club is that there is nearly always second-user gear available for purchase. And the great thing about the club is that if you are seriously interested in making a purchase, most members selling kit will allow you a pool try out so you can 'try-before-you-buy'.

As with anything, you do need to be careful when purchasing second hand kit but club instructors will guide you during training – you will learn the kind of questions to ask and how you can get a service/safety check. For best advice, speak to Geoff our Training Officer - he owns a shop and can advise on costs and carry out a service for you if required.
